The Concert in Exall Park — A Letter of Thanks

June 8, 2011
Thank-you-note

Greetings to All,

As I reflect back to last month’s Symphony Orchestra Concert in Exall Park, I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude. Oh yes, I think the concert was a great success. So many in the neighborhood, the community, and other parts of the city had a wonderful time in our little urban park. They enjoyed the activities, the food, their own picnics, visiting with neighbors, and enjoying the different music venues. We had a police estimate of about 1300 folks in the park that Tuesday night.

Oh yes, I think the concert was a great success. I think most though about how grateful Sharon and I are to live in a neighborhood, with such a caring, hardworking, and giving of their time group of people. I am grateful for each of you who stepped up to the plate and did whatever was asked. I am grateful to each of you, that when the concert was over, who jumped in to take the set up down and load in the trailer. I am grateful to have seen some of our old “Friends” of the park who have not been able to join in lately. But I am so grateful to those of you that I know your support, wisdom, and encouragement will always be there, no matter when I call.

Oh yes, I think the concert was a great success. Over the years, so many have given so much. I think collectively we have all fulfilled a dream to make Exall Park a destination for fun, recreation, exercise, fellowship, and family enjoyment. I am unable to put into words how grateful I am to each of you for your unending sacrifice to Exall Park and Bryan Place.

Thank you all so much,
Wayne Smith
