Revisiting Ross Avenue
Now that the Icon At Ross Avenue is near completion, changes are also occurring across the streets from the new apartment complex to the east and south.
According to Jerry Moreno, of Downtown Auto Upholstery at 1623 Hall Street, he sold the garage to a developer this month. The taco stand on the northeast corner of Ross and Hall has been demolished and plans are unknown for what is slated on the properties.
The public art project for the Gateway To The Arts District (the Ross Avenue underpass at Central) has not gone to city council yet. This was supposed to happen in October, however we were told there are still issues that need to be resolved between the city and TxDOT on providing the power source for the lighting.
The next cleanup project was also delayed due to the weather and holidays. We will keep you informed.
