Pull out your old jeans and boots to join your neighbors and friends at the underpass of Ross Avenue and Central on Saturday morning from around 8am to noon, May 19, as we clean up our Gateway To The Arts District.

A few neighborhood volunteers have done regular trash pickups and tended to the landscaping. But now we need everyone’s help to do a bang-up job of making it presentable for our spring strolls to all the events in the Arts District. It has been a while since we’ve spruced up our Gateway. Weather delays and anticipation of the public art project made it difficult to plan the right weekend. So before it gets too hot, please drop in whenever you can that morning.

There will be plenty of chores and afterwards we’ll have hot dogs and refreshments to celebrate a job well done.

We look forward to seeing you.

Check out the recent facelift at 3212 Trevolle and hop with the frogs at May 2012 Yard of the Month.

The new rock borders and steps in the middle of the front flower garden not only provide architectural appeal but also serves as a walkway and lily pad for the eclectic green visitors to this garden.

Gaye Maris has enhanced this garden to include various assortments of frog-loving blooming flowers as well as plants and flowers throughout the curved beds alongside her driveway. Very appealing; keep those colors coming throughout the neighborhood.

Thank you Gaye!
